Summer Love

Dress: Made by me // Shoes: ALDO // Belt: Thrifted // Necklace: Claire's(?) // Bracelet: JewelMint // Watch: Betsey Johnson
Ever since last Valentine's Day, when I made this beautiful dress, it's been sitting in the back of my closet, begging to be worn. I never did because I needed to do some touch ups on it if I was going to be wearing it in the summer (I was able to cover minor mistakes with my sweater back in February). But the other morning I had some time (and motivation), so I fixed her right up and she was beautiful again.

I was told I looked like Betty Boop. I was going for Marilyn Monroe. I'm rather happy with the combination of the two!

Birthday Weekend!

Dress: Made by me // Sweater: Urban Behavior // Belt: Thrifted // Shoes: Payless // Necklace: Forever 21 // Watch: Betsey Johnson

Dress: Made by me // Sweater: Wet Seal // Belt: Charlotte Russe // Shoes: Target // Short Necklace: Tiffany's // Long Necklace: JewelMint // Watch: Betsey Johnson

Coat: Marshel's // Scarf: Kmart // Jeans: Forever 21 // Tank: Wet Seal // Sweater: Wet Seal // Shoes: Target // Watch: Betsey Johnson
So, my birthday was on Thursday. The top three pictures are what I wore that day. Garrett came up to Point to see me and we went out to dinner with Liz. He gave me my awesome Betsey Johnson watch for my birthday!
Then on Friday, I went to Madison to see my mom and Bob. I also wore my birthday dress to dinner. They gave me a gift certificate to Joann Fabrics (whoot whoot!) and season four of the show Chuck, which is one of the greatest shows ever!
Then on Saturday was my bff's, Karen, birthday. (It is epically awesome to have a birthday so close to your bff's, FYI.) So, I went down to see her and we went out to lunch and did some shopping with her boyfriend, Joe. I bought this amazing spring coat with the money Liz gave me for my birthday, so basically she got it for me!

It was a pretty long weekend, but it was so much fun! I'm glad I got to see everyone I wanted to in the last week and a half. It was a wonderful birthday and thank you to everyone!

My Interpretation of My Time In Stevens Point

Skirt: Handmade // Sweater: Aero // Belt: Charlotte Russe // Tights: Target // Shoes: Urban Outfitters
I call this skirt "my interpretation of my time spent in Stevens Point". I was at a thrift store last Saturday and I saw this material there for $1. I decided it was awful and awesome at the same time. If I were to ever go hunting (hahahahaha), this is what I would look like. I even remembered the orange.

The Valentine's Day Dress

Coat: Candie's // Sweater: Target // Dress: Hademade by me // Tights: Target // Flats: Target // Earrings: Claire's // Belt: Rue 21

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Imagine my pleasant surprise when I got home from class to find a package at my door step. (I don't ask for Valentine's Day gifts as my birthday is in two weeks.) Garrett bought me a lucky bamboo in the shape of a heart! It's so unique and fun! I love it! Thank you honey!
I also received a beautiful card in the mail from my mom and Bob. Thank you to you guys too!

This is my first dress made completely by me, by myself. It's a rather difficult task I tell you, because it's hard to measure and pin it when you are wearing it. But I'm so happy with how it turned out! I can't wait for it to get warmer so I can wear it without the sweater! This also means I can get started on making my birthday dress.

What did you do for Valentine's Day? What did you wear?

Sewing Saturday!

This is what I've been working on today!
This dress what originally a size 16 (I'm about a size 4), and came down to my shins. I found it at Goodwill for $1.99! Crazy, right?!
And here is my yellow sweater I wore the other day. I finally got to take it in a bit (or a lot!).
This sweater I bought at Goodwill also for $1.00. Yup, awesome!

I also made a skirt today, but I'm going to save that for next week so you can see it in daylight.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday!

Daisies

Shirt: Wet Seal, Sweater: Thrifted, Skirt: Handmade, Shoes: Kenzie, Belt: Charlotte Russe, Tights: Target, Ring: Wet Seal
I am so excited to debut my daisy skirt! This is the first dress I designed and completely made myself!! I love daisies because they are a happy flower. You can't look at a daisy without smiling. Well, at least I can't. :)  <---See?
You can probably tell this sweater is too big on me. I bought it at Goodwill for $1.00. My plan is to take it in so it's a fitted sweater, but I really wanted to wear it today because I don't have any long sleeved, yellow tops.
(I'm actually looking down in this picture, but I realize now that I look sleepy!)
Another amazing thing part of my outfit today are these shoes. I got them at Boston Store a few years ago at their yellow dot sale. They were originally $115, but after being 50% off, 25% off, 75% off (in no particular order), etc., I got these babies for $10. Yes, you read that right. $10! And the only pair left were in my size. It was fate.
I have a lot of homework to do tonight, but later this week/this weekend I have a bunch of sewing projects planned. I can't wait to show you!
